There is a part of me that says if the Khmer people can't be brave enough or be bothered to rise up and get rid of hun sen (as has been achieved in so many other countries recently) then in reality there is probably no hope... I must admit my time in Cambodia has left me rather frustrated at the inability of the Khmer people to practice what they preach, I concur that's easy for me to say. I'm also annoyed at the lack of support for Rainsy by the French, they seems to be supporting hun sen along with the australians... That said I feel sorry for the Khmer people, they just aren't cut out for confrontation and stress!Ricknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7268514535295850133.post-55091095452157759522013-12-15T19:18:28.570-08:002013-12-15T19:18:28.570-08:00That was, of course, politically. That was, of course, politically.KJEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04869408230216868495noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7268514535295850133.post-22208566677736149212013-12-15T19:18:05.300-08:002013-12-15T19:18:05.300-08:00Yeah, and it seems now that this whole thing is mo...Yeah, and it seems now that this whole thing is more about personal animosity than trying to solve this problem polically.KJEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04869408230216868495noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7268514535295850133.post-51039367734313848032013-12-15T14:34:48.071-08:002013-12-15T14:34:48.071-08:00I have found most Khmers are generally quite outsp...I have found most Khmers are generally quite outspoken about their dislike of Hun Sen however it disappoints me to say that very few of them would risk protesting on any real scale because in essence they are petrified of him. Rainsy only had one shot at this, as soon as your average Khmer saw Hun Sen taking the win they were all straight back under their shells again so it makes sense the crowds declined. Nobody believes there is going to be an upheaval of the CPP, its just a case of waiting another 4 years now.

But Hun Sen isn't daft, he has 4 years to appease the younger voters who you have correctly identified as being the real threat. it will be very interesting so see how this pans out, who knows,he might even start acting in the peoples best interest just to stick one up at Rainsy.Ricknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7268514535295850133.post-36049570694696558762013-09-13T02:45:29.007-07:002013-09-13T02:45:29.007-07:00Not true. I read every post of yours but this is first time commenting.

I think you know a lot of expats living here in Cambodia. I notice many have left Cambodia and Legend Cinema, was used to be packed with expats, is now unusually quiet since August. Neonoreply@blogger.com
